The Gills Creek Watershed Association and the Congaree Riverkeeper are joining forces to finish the clean-up project in the lower portion of Gills Creek.

Once again, the Gills Creek Watershed Association and the Congaree Riverkeeper are joining forces to finish the clean-up project in the lower portion of Gills Creek. We will be getting in kayaks or canoes and working hard to clear log jams, debris, and trash in order to make a path for boaters.

We will be meeting on Saturday, September 26th from 9-1pm. We will meet under the Gills Creek bridge at Shop Road close to the animal shelter. There is parking in the right-of-way between the bridge and the animal shelter.  If you are coming towards I-77 on Shop Rd., go past the bridge and park before you reach the animal shelter.

Please be prepared for poison ivy, snakes, spiders and some interesting sights! We are in need of lawn equipment such as loppers, bow saws, hand saws, and rakes.

Contact Jessica Artz at 803-727-8326 or jartz@environ.sc.edu or see gillscreekwatershed.org for more information.
