Be on the lookout for crews of young people, often girls, going door-to-door wanting your money for magazine subscriptions or other offers.They may claim that their parents lived on certain streets in the neighborhood and that they were trying to go to a baseball tournament or other recreational opportunity. They may say they are collecting money to donate books to children at Richland Memorial Hospital and that the team with the most donations would get an incentive. This is a known scam with inflated subscription prices or no actual subscription ever made. See the AARP web site for more information:
