The Fort Jackson Recycling Center is open to the public 24/7. Enter through the Forest Drive gate and have a Drivers License, Registration and Insurance Card.

Materials accepted include items the city will not take in the recycle bins. Materials accepted include newspapers, magazines, plastic (all numbers), aluminum cans, glass (green, clear and brown), cardboard, and brown paper bags.

The city will only take plastics #1 and #2, glass, aluminum, steel cans, newspaper, magazines and aerosol cans. Other containers/lids/bags that are #4, #5 (sour cream, yogurt containers), #6 (which is all styrofoam), and other plastic numbers cannot be recycled in the city's blue bins. The city also does not take cardboard in the bins.
