As of July 1, 2011, South Carolina residents are no longer able to throw away computers, computer monitors, televisions and printers with your household garbage.

These items must be recycled. The legislation specifically says that residents “may not knowingly place or discard” a computer, computer monitor, printer and television “in any waste stream that is to be disposed of in a solid waste landfill.” How to Recycle Electronic Waste and Computers
