Block Captains are the front line of the neighborhood association. Block Captains serve to pass information from the association organizers out to the neighborhood, and just as importantly, pass information from residents, renters and property owners back up to the assocation. Many of the tasks are ones that you would undertake just by being a good neighbor. To share the tasks, a Block Captain is encouraged to recruit a Co-Captain. The association has zones as shown on the map below and a listing of our current Block Captains.

Here are a few items that would be excellent community events for the families of Sherwood Forest. Sherwood Forest ARP Church has designed these events to be of service to you our neighbors.

Sherwood Forest is divided between two voting precincts: Ward 14 and Ward 17. There are federal and state congressional races, governor, county elections and state constitutional amendments.

Dear Friends and Neighbors:

As you most probably are aware, City Council is considering an arrangement with Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott to oversee the management of the Columbia Police Department (CPD). I welcome your thoughts and input and am hosting an informal discussion tomorrow at the Capital Senior Center at 5:30 PM. I hope you will make plans to join me!

All neighbors are invited to attend the Neighborhood Mayoral Candidate Forum hosted by the Historic Heathwood, Forest Hills, Heathwood West, Pinehurst, Melrose and Tanglewood neighborhood associations and modertated by Brad Warthen. The forum will be held Thursday, February 4th, from 7pm until 8:30pm. The forum will be held at the Eastminister Presbyterian Church on Trenholm Road in the Education Hall behind the church.
