The CANDO gardens are the gardens on the exterior of the the USC Belser Arboretum that were developed with the help of a CANDO grant from the City of Columbia. The Sherwood Forest Neighborhood Association is responsible for keeping them healthy and pretty. Right now we have a group of five volunteers who work one week a month for an hour or so to help maintain the gardens. We would love any extra helpers who are interested in showing up or who would like to be added to the regular schedule.
Watering, weeding, and street cleanup after Friday garbage pick up remain the main tasks, with leaf raking in the fall and planting of annuals on a seasonal basis.
