Update From Columbia Police Chief Randy Scott

Columbia Police Chief Randy Scott alerts residents in the Shandon and adjacent neighborhood areas of an uptick in home burglaries in recent weeks. He encourages residents to report any unusual or suspicious activity immediately to the Columbia Police Department (CPD) at 911.

South Region Burglary Advisory

The South Region has experienced three burglaries in the Rosewood area with similarities. The unknown suspect’s are forcing their way into homes through back doors, kitchen windows, and even front doors. The suspect’s are removing flat screen TV’s, laptop computers, electronic games, and firearms.

Crime Alert - Recent Area Burglaries

There have been several house break-ins in our area and the Heathwood area in the last few days to include a home on Kalmia Drive and several houses on Heathwood Circle and Whittaker Drive.
