The Saturday, February 8 clean up has been postponed to a date to be announced. Feel free to freelance! And keep the pet poop bags out of the leaf piles! Bin the bags in your green household garbage rollcart.

Please contact Dave Nelson at 803 447-4793 or appearance@sherwoodforestneighbors.org for information or any questions.

Richland County Plastic Bag Ordinance
Richland County Council is considering an ordinance that would affect the type of bags businesses make available to the public. The purpose of the ordinance would be, among other things, to reduce plastic litter in area waterways and outdoor spaces, and reduce costs for bags that are passed on to consumers. Input from retailers, food establishments, charities and the general public is greatly encouraged.

Take the survey at http://www.richlandcountysc.gov/Government/Departments/Licensing-Registration/Business-Service-Center/Proposed-Bag-Ordinance or email bagordinance@richlandcountysc.gov for more information.

The Great Backyard Bird Count!
February 14-17
Launched in 1998 by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and National Audubon Society, the Great Backyard Bird Count was the first online citizen-science project to collect data on wild birds and to display results in near real-time.

Now, more than 160,000 people of all ages and walks of life worldwide join the four-day count each February to create an annual snapshot of the distribution and abundance of birds.

You are invited to participate! For at least 15 minutes on one or more days of the count, February 14-17, 2020, simply tally the numbers and kinds of birds you see. You can count from any location, anywhere in the world, for as long as you wish, and report it online!

Crier emails
We are making an effort to send out these informational emails around the first of every month to keep neighbors up do date on neighborhood events, and other events and information of interest. It's cheaper and better for the environment not to print and pass out fliers! But we could all probably use the exercise!

If you have information of interest to the neighborhood, please pass it along and we may include it in a future Crier.

Tell your friends and neighbors to subscribe. No membership required, but of course we would like everybody to join! New neighbor? Let us know and we'll send out the welcome wagon.

To subscribe, email membership@sherwoodforestneighbors.org or subscribe online
