USC Belser Arboretum Open House
Spring flowers, foliage and leaves are nearing their finest for the Belser Arboretum’s monthly open house Sunday, April 15. The seven-acre semiwilderness site, located off Kilbourne Road on the 3900 block of Bloomwood Road, will be open for walking from 1 to 4 p.m. A wildflower walk starts at 2 p.m. from the Bloomwood gate.

Sherwood Forest Presbyterian Church's Spring Carnival
Touch a Truck Family Carnival will be held at the Sherwood Forest ARP Church on Saturday April 21, from 10am - 2pm. Fire, police, emergency vehicles, tractors plus a bouncehouse will be on site. The Sheriff's department will conduct a 'Kid Print" program. This is a free family community event to bring neighbors together on a beautiful Columbia Spring day. Free hotdogs, chips and drinks.

Sustainable Midlands Sustainable Path Awards
Sustainable Midlands is presenting their first annual Sustainable Path Awards at 6pm on May 7 at 701 Whaley. Outgoing Councilwoman Dr Belinda Gergel will be honored with the 2012 Extraordinary Achievement Award to recognize her commitment and contribution to City of Columbia Neighborhoods.

Sustainable Midlands will be accepting nominations for the Sustainable Path Awards until April 20, 2012. The Sustainable Path Awards honor individuals and organizations who are leading the way in finding the balance between the needs of the community, the environment and the economy!
