Contested offices include Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Superintendent of Education, Comptroller General, Commissioner of Agriculture, Treasurer, 5th Circuit solicitor, and House of Representatives District 75. The General Election will be held on November 6, 2018 Sherwood Forest is divided between two voting districts: Precinct Ward 14 and Precinct Ward 17. Ward 14 includes the south side of Duncan Street to Kalmia, the west side of Kalmia south to Mimosa, and the south side of Mimosa to Beltline. SC Senate District 20 Polling Precinct Ward 14 – Polling Location – Sims Park, 3500 Duncan Street Ward 17 includes the north side of Duncan to Kalmia, the east side of Kalmia to Mimosa, the north side of Mimosa to Beltline. USC Belser Arboretum Open House Sunday, June 17, 1-4pm The public is invited to an open house at the W. Gordon Belser Arboretum. The open house program is held the third Sunday of every month, and features a variety of learning elements in these events. SFNA General Meeting Tuesday, August 14, 6:30pm-8pm The next general meeting of the Sherwood Forest Neighborhood Association is scheduled for Tuesday, August 14 from 6:30pm-8pm at the Sherwood Forest Presbyterian Church on the corner of Wilmot Avenue and Beltline Boulevard. Join us at 6pm to meet and greet your neighbors! Hayward Harvin, the mayor’s chief of staff, will speak on smart city technology (i.e. like Shotspotter gun discharge detection and sensors on garbage/recycling bins), economic development around town, how the mayor’s involvement with the US Council of Mayors helps the city, and other topics of current interest for the city. SFNA Adopt-A-Highway Clean Up Saturday, August 25, 9:30-11am Volunteers are invited to participate in the cleanup which is part of the Keep The Midlands Beautiful Adopt-A-Highway program. We will meet at the Piggly Wiggly parking lot. We will work from Devine to Rosewood on Kilbourne, then east to Beltline, and finishing at Sherwood Forest Church.
