Plant the Trees in Sherwood Forest!
The City of Columbia’s Division of Forestry & Beautification has a tree planting program for Columbia residents. Each winter they plant 500 trees in the city’s right of way areas to provide an urban tree canopy. This is a free service that plants new trees, waters the trees for two years, and prunes and maintains the trees over their life span. They are currently putting a list together of sites to plant trees. As you know, neighborhoods with trees are the most desirable in which to live, and trees help to increase the property values of a neighborhood.
