City of Columbia Commercial Area Plan Public Meeting
Please join the City of Columbia for a community public meeting for the Devine Street, Ft. Jackson Blvd., Garners Ferry, and Beltline Blvd. commercial area Thursday, October 17. The meeting is a follow-up to the August 15th meeting. The consultant will be presenting more refined plans prior to moving forward with formal recommendations to the City. USC Belser Arboretum October Open House
The Belser Arboretum's monthly Open House for the general public on the third Sunday of each month from 1-4pm. The next open house will be on October 20.

Annual Neighborhood Halloween Party
The goblins are haunting
The monsters will mash,
It's time to get ready for
Our neighborhood Halloween Bash!

Cynde & Robert Devlin will host an informal Halloween Party on the front lawn of their house at 504 Kalmia Drive on Thursday, October 31st, from 5pm until dark. Bring your own picnic supper and blanket. Sodas and desserts will be provided. Everyone can socialize, the kids (and adults?) can show off their costumes, and then disperse to trick or treat.

Luminaries will be available to indicate your participation in neighborhood trick-or-treating.

We are looking for volunteers to assist in setup, food, activities and cleanup. Contact Ed Tilden at 803 530-2436 or email president@sherwoodforestneighbors.org.



2013 Municipal Election
The 2013 Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, November 5 in the City of Columbia. The following offices will be included in this election:
  • Mayor
  • District I Councilmember
  • District 4 Councilmember
  • At-Large Councilmember

SFNA General Meeting November 12
The next general meeting of the Sherwood Forest Neighborhood Association will be held Tuesday, November 12 at the Sherwood Forest Presbyterian Church on the corner of Wilmot Avenue and Beltline Boulevard. Socialize with your neighbors from 6–6:30pm. The general meeting will be from 6:30-8:00pm.

Bring yourself, your family, your neighbors, and any concerns you may have to the meeting!


Adopt A Street Trash Pickup
The Sherwood Forest Neighborhood Assocation has adopted our neighborhood streets for litter pickup. The next scheduled pickup is Saturday, November 15, 2013. We need a Beautification committee chairman to coordinate the pickup! This event is part of the Adopt-A-Street program of Keep The Midlands Beautiful.
