We are thinking about putting together a jinglebell hayride complete with singing, Santa hats, and hot chocolate. Post Holiday Adult Party Regina Monteith again has offered to host us at Bloomwood, the 1920's Belser home at 520 Kilbourne, on Friday, January 7, 2011. Details to come. The Halloween Hot Dog Supper A Great Success! We served over 150 hot dogs and had to send out for more! Thanks to Rhett Bailey for making his famous hot dog chili, Anne and Doug Frate for helping to cook hotdogs, and to Larry Hembree for providing the tables and trashcans. Also, thanks goes out to Drew Robb, who brought a tractor and trailer for a hayride. The neighborhood children and adults had a great time riding up and down the streets on Halloween night. Our neighbors did a nice job on Halloween night of welcoming families with the luminaries on their porches and friendly hello's. Several families said what a nice time they had trick-or-treating this year. Of course, the entire event was hosted and coordinated by Ashley and Eric Norton again this year. Community Christmas Events at Sherwood Forest ARP Church November 24th - Thanksgiving Service - 7pm — A simple community gathering to give thanks together and have dessert afterwards. December 17th - Parents Nights Out - 7-10pm Give parents a shot at some time alone! Kids from 2-14 will be here (with heavy adult supervision) and have supper and watch a movie. This will also be a ‘rehearsal” for the Christmas pageant which simply means that they will sing some Christmas carols and will be welcomed to be part of the Christmas pageant if interested. December 19th - Kids Christmas Pageant/Dinner - 7pm - A family event that includes dinner (covered dish), Christmas caroling and a small pageant by the children followed by an appearance by Santa. December 24th – Christmas Eve Candlelight Service - 7pm - A beautiful traditional event including Christmas carols and ushering in Christmas with candles.
