The Sherwood Forest Neighborhood Association will host a Block Party Sunday, September 19 from 3-5pm on Kalmia Drive between the intersection of Wilmot, Duncan and Kalmia and Mimosa Road.

Folks are asked to bring a pot luck dish. Chicken wings will be provided along with utensils and ice. BYOB. The band Total Denial will be playing. Total Denial is a quartet of musicians/vocalists on guitar, upright bass and banjo and play a little bit of everything.

Also, we encourage everyone to visit the Belser Arboretum before the party as it will be open from 1–4pm.

A Sherwood Forest neighbor needs our help!
Beth Medlock, who lives on Mimosa Drive, recently had an accident that blinded her. Now she is trying to run her business and raise her child as a single parent while struggling with total blindness. Please go to the following link and read about her situation and how you can help. http://www.fundraiserforbethmedlock.com/.

Sherwood Forest Neighborhood Vehicle Stickers
The Neighborhood Association has vehicle stickers available to identify your vehicles as 'belonging' in the neighborhood. The City of Columbia police recommends using these so vehicles from outside of the neighborhood are more easily identified. The stickers are 3" x 3" and should be attached to the rear driver's side of the vehicle either on the window, trunk or bumper. Standard bumper-sticker style stickers are free. Static cling stickers for the inside of the rear window are available for $2. Stickers will be available at the block party or you can ontact Lewis Kirk at 787-3450 or webmaster@sherwoodforestneighbors.org to arrange to get them.

City Council Hearing on Sherwood Forest's Request for CC1 Protection
City Council will hold a hearing on Sherwood Forest neighborhood's request to be covered by the CC1 Community Character Protection ordinance and entertain discussion of the overlay at a public zoning hearing on Wednesday, September 15, at 10am. A good showing of neighbors at the City Council zoning public hearing to support the overlay ordinance would be helpful.
