SFNA Annual Halloween Hot Dog Party Wednesday, October 31, 5:30-7pm on Kalmia! The Halloween party is a favorite neighborhood event for the kids and the young at heart. On October 31, 5:30-7pm on Kalmia dress up your kids, pets or significant other and come out to be neighborly! We will provide hotdogs, chili and chips. Neighbors can bring sides or desserts. BYOB. USC Belser Arboretum Open House Sunday, October 16, 1-4pm The public is invited to an open house at the W. Gordon Belser Arboretum. The open house program is held the third Sunday of every month, and features a variety of learning elements in these events. SFNA Adopt-A-Highway Clean Up Saturday, October 20, 9:30-11am Volunteers are invited to participate in the cleanup which is part of the Keep The Midlands Beautiful Adopt-A-Highway program. We will meet at the Piggly Wiggly parking lot. We will work from Devine to Rosewood on Kilbourne, then east to Beltline, and finishing at Sherwood Forest Church. The General Election is Tuesday, November 6, 2018 The in person registration deadline is Friday, October 5, 2018. Online or faxed registrations must be submitted by Sunday, October 7, 2018. South Carolina Historic Aviation Foundation Open House, Saturday, October 13, 10am-1pm at Hangar Y-1 The South Carolina Historic Aviation Foundation (SCHAF) is headquartered at the Jim Hamilton - Owens Field Airport and is working to restore and preserve the B-25C Mitchell Medium Bomber which was reclaimed from the bottom of Lake Greenwood where it had rested since 1944. While you are at Jim Hamilton - Owens Field Airport be sure to visit the terminal which houses several historic displays about SC aviation history including the South Carolina Aviation Hall of Fame. You may also want to visit the Hunter-Gatherer Brewery which is newly opened in the historic Curtiss-Wright Hanger on the west end of the airport.
